order. If an item is currently out of stock, this is advised on the product
Order page. If there is a shipping delay for any reason whatsoever,
you will be notified by email.
Orders
received for products shipped from locations other than Dontronics in Melbourne
are forwarded on to the relevant supplier, and an email advising of this
is also forwarded to all customers.
What does: "Thanks for
the order, on the way for you" mean?
It means we have your order,
and we have the goods in stock. It also means we have processed your order
and are packaging the goods ready for shipment on the next available business
day after the order has been processed.

Estimated
Delivery Times
All
goods are sent Standard Air Mail unless otherwise requested. Standard Air
Mail delivery to International destinations varies, however we normally
quote 8 to 14 days for delivery. It does depend on your local mail
service and Customs.
Parcels
to New Zealand take around 4-6 days, and to the United Kingdom and the
USA will take around 6-10 days. Packages can take up to 2 weeks to
arrive in Canada and Europe. Deliveries to South Africa usually
take around 2 weeks and at times may take 3 to 4 weeks, but we don't know
why. Deliveries to India can vary greatly from 2 weeks to 2 months. Some
South American countries can also take 2 months.

above times are estimates only, and at times goods will arrive sooner than
even we expect. See the comments from customers on the Customers
Recommendations page regarding delivery. These are real comments from

Postal
Charges
Many products have shipping
charges factored into the cost of the product. If you are purchasing
an item with shipping costs included, please select the "Free Shipping"
option on the Order Checkout form.
For all other purchases,
the one of the following postal options will apply:

Postal options are:
Standard
letter sized envelope: Free postage
If
you are ordering only small bare printed circuit boards so your package
consists of just the bare board(s), we can post these as a standard letter
and no postal charges will apply. Minimal purchase value is $20 AUD. Select
the "Free Shipping" option when asked for postage rates on the Order Checkout
form. If you pay postage, we will assume you are doing so to help
prevent postal damage, as these boards will be sent in a padded bag.
If
you require sockets, crystals, or anything else along with the boards then
these can't be sent in a standard letter-sized envelope as a padded bag
is required to ensure safe delivery and higher postal rates will apply.
We
cannot send larger items with bare printed boards in standard letter-sized
envelopes as the automated postal sorting machines can grind a crystal
or chip up. Bare printed circuit boards on their own have proven fine.
If
you do require other items with your bare printed circuit boards, the postal
charge is $10 AUD.
Large
letter or small package up to 500 grams: $10 AUD for International orders
This
is our most common standard charge for postage. Total weight will be less
than 500 grams. We will complete and attach Customs Declaration Forms to
all international packages.
Large
items or goods over 500 grams in weight: $15 AUD for International orders
For
items bigger than a large letter or small package, the maximum postage
rate applies. This is $15 AUD for international orders, and is used for
larger quantity orders or if a cable has been purchased. We will complete
and attach Customs Declaration Forms to all international packages.

International
Courier Delivery and Tracking Numbers
Standard
world wide Air Mail packages do not have a Tracking Number, so we are unable
to provide tracking numbers for any package sent by standard post.
If
you wish to have your order shipped by International Courier, we use the
Australia
Post EMS International Courier Service. This is contracted out to
DHL in most countries and is available at $65 AUD.
The
EMS International Courier option can be selected during the Order Checkout
process, and is only available for goods shipped directly from Dontronics
in Australia. If goods are sent from a location outside of Australia,
then this service is not available.
It
is our policy not to give out the Tracking Number, however to most countries
the goods should arrive in 3 to 4 days. These packages are web-trackable
so if the package takes longer than expected to arrive, we are able to
check its progress on the internet.
Dontronics
does
not use FedEx, DHL or UPS Courier services even if you provide us with
your Courier Account Number, as the paperwork we have to fill out for these
courier companies takes a lot of time and effort on our part.

Customs
Duty and Taxes
Import
Custom Duty/Taxes if payable are your responsibility. All Custom Declaration
Forms attached to packages from Dontronics in Australia are clearly marked
"Software" or "Electronics Part(s)".
We
have only ever had one package returned because of high Customs Duty and
this was due to local Customs Officers requesting more be paid in taxes
than the items were actually worth. This happened in India.
We
have never experienced any Customs problems when sending bare printed circuit
boards through in a standard letter-sized envelope.

All
goods are sent by Standard Mail via Australia Post, unless otherwise
selected during the Order Checkout process. The estimated delivery time
provided by Australia Post is 1-3 days to most destinations within Capital
cities. It may be 3-5 days to Perth, Cairns and other regional centres,
and 4-5 days to Darwin.
You
will be advised by email as soon as your order has been processed and shipped.
After that, it's in the hands of Australia Post.
