Wirz Electronics, Inc. is proud to announce that the eagerly awaited Stamp Stick 2SX is now available. Stamp Stick 2SX is Parallax, Inc. BASIC Stamp Two SX compatible Single Board Computer. It utilizes a genuine Parallax, Inc. BASIC Stamp Interpreter IC and it is fully SimmStick compatible. The board comes completely assembled and tested. Do to its Surface Mount construction, it has a *large* "Sea of Holes" prototyping area for adding your own circuitry. The Stamp Stick 2SX is the complement to the Stamp Stick One which is a Basic Stamp One compatible SimmStick board offering a lower price with reduced processing power and power consumption.

The Wirz Electronics’ Stamp Stick 2SX is Parallax, Inc. BASIC Stamp^TM Two SX compatible Single Board Computer. It utilizes a genuine Parallax, Inc. BASIC Stamp^TM Interpreter IC. It is fully SimmStick^TM compatible allowing it to be used with the wide variety of SimmStick^TM prototyping and hardware expansion boards that are available from multiple vendors. SimmStick^TM has the form factor of a 30 Pin SIMM Memory Module. They are designed to be easily plugged together to form hardware circuits using a SIMM Socket back plane or by direct connection with pin headers. The small form factor and onboard power supply makes Stamp Stick useful for stand-alone applications also.

The Stamp Stick 2SX will work with the free development tools available from Parallax, Inc. It is ideal for educational and hobby electronics purposes. In Circuit Programming can be accomplished through a simple serial connection to a PC making development simple and fast. Stamp Stick’s are further unique in offering a large prototyping area such that the user can easily add peripheral IC’s such as an EEPROM, ADC, or even a battery backed up Real Time Clock. Parallax, Inc. has released numerous application notes available for free download from their web site that provide a valuable resource for BASIC Stamp^TM Development.

What files do I need to get started with the Stamp Stic 2SX?

The Stamp Stick 2SX is a clone of the Parallax, Inc Basic Stamp^TM Two SX in a SimmStick^TM form factor. It uses a nearly identical circuit and has a genuine Parallax, Inc Basic Stamp^TM Two SX Interpreter IC. The main difference is that the SimmStick^TM 2SX has a more powerful low drop out regulator and a large onboard prototyping area. It is therefore 100% compatible with all of the Basic Stamp^TM Two SX development tools as well as the code examples and application notes.
